Washington DC Restaurant Week (Aug 6th-12th)

August 7th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Restaurant Week is upon us

This is one of my favorite times of the year because you can test out the best restaurants in the city for a fraction of the price.  Talk about a deal!  A 3 course lunch runs you $20.07 while dinner is $30.07.  (If someone knows the reason for the extra 7 cents charge, I’d be very curious!)  I also use this week as a chance to check out restaurants on my suspect list, i.e. restaurants with conflicting reviews.  We all have those friends who sing a certain eateries praises, but you’re not quite sure if their idea of a great meal is on par with yours.  Use this week to find out.

For those not living in DC, check out opentable for a listing of other cities with Restaurant Weeks.

I have a few reservations this year and am looking forward to expanding my RW knowledge.

Some tips…

I realize this is a day late and a dollar short, but make reservations as early as possible.  The good restaurants and times are snapped up quickly.  It could be extreme, but I made my reservations one month ago.

This is a deal, so try the restaurants you would normally think too extravagant!  How often would you have the chance to get out of Corduroy with a bill under $100?!

We have a Restaurant Week coming up in Cincinnati September 4th thru September 8th. Here is a link to check it out. http://www.gcindependents.com/. Each meal will be $25.07. The meals cost $25.07 becuase 25 restaurants are participating and it is the year 2007 (hence the extra 7 cents). I’m not sure if 30 restaraunts participated in DC’s restaurant week, but I assume there is an extra 7 cents for the same reason. Hope that helps you out!

Thanks Michael. You’re right about the .07 meaning 2007, and thanks for the link to Cincinnati’s RW. I’m anxious to hear how it turns out!
