Honeycup MustardHoneycup Sharp Mustard

Everytime I discover a product that enhances the eating experience I want to do a little dance.  For years now I have been putting Honeycup mustard on my sandwiches, bratwursts, etc… You name it, honeycup mustard probably makes it taste better!  For the longest time I thought its presence on grocery store shelves was commenplace, but I was wrong!  Here in D.C. I’ve managed to find it at Rodman’s Discount Gourmet

Also, Cafe Phillips in downtown D.C. (14th and H St. NW) serves Honeycup mustard on their sandwiches, so you can sample before investing in a jar.

With prices ranging from $4-$6 it’s a bit of a splurge for mustard, but the extra few dollars won’t be missed when you bite into that perfect sandwich!

Warning:  It has a bit of a kick to it, so if you’re one to avoid spicy things, it may not be for you.

Could you describe the mustard for me? I’m a mustard lover too. Is it a honey mustard like in the name?and where can I find it in Chicago?? Great Blog!

It’s a sharp and sweet honey mustard with a good kick. (The kind that tingles in your nose).

Apparently University Market, 1323 East 57th street near the University of Chicago spreads it on their sandwiches. I found that info on LTHForum, what appears to be a great Chicago food board.

You can also probably find Honeycup at a specialty foods store, gourmet store, or a market that sells food from different countries. The mustard is from Canada, so it shows up in the “import” aisle from time to time.

This stuff is truly the greatest mustard out there. I would pour it on my cereal if it were socially acceptable.
