It’s Wednesday folks, and after reading the first few lines of my favorite morning chat I felt the need to pass along some VERY interesting and much anticipated information about a recently closed Logan Circle restaurant and it’s new inhabitants.
The space formerly occupied by Viridian, a simple-American cuisine restaurant, will soon be taken over […]

February 8th, 2008 · 5 Comments

Delving into the New York Times dining & wine section I came across a sight for sore eyes.  A trend that was once all the range is coming full circle and peaking once more.  I’ve already told you the “trend” but I’ll name again for good measure…sun-dried tomatoes.
Ohh how I love them, and I must […]

Ingredients…

October 16th, 2007 · No Comments

I know quotes are uber cheesy, but I was reading the ongoing chat with Ann Cashion (Former Chef/Owner of Cashion’s Eat Place, Co-Owner of Taqueria Nacionale and Co-Owner of Johnny’s Half Shell) on Don Rockwell.com and found her comment on ingredients to be very insightful and similar to my own thoughts on cooking.  She of course has […]

Value priced California wines?

October 5th, 2007 · No Comments

“Value-priced line of wines that exceed expectations in their depth, elegance, and overall punch for the buck,” is the sentence that caught my attention from today’s Washingtonian blog.
It’s subject…Joel Gott Wines.
With some of the prices at $11, $15 and $17 I’m planning to pick up a bottle and see if they really “exceed expectations.”

DCist-An Analysis of DC pizza

September 18th, 2007 · 2 Comments

The DCist today has an article on the best pizza in town.  It’s like they read my mind and I 100% agree with their conclusions…well, as much as I can.  I’ve been to Comet Ping Pong and 2 Amys, coming to similar conclusions after each visit.
At Comet you can taste the quality of the ingredients, […]

Article-Rock Creek Restaurant in Friendship Heights

August 27th, 2007 · No Comments

The Washingtonian Best Bites Blog has a feed/back (a restaurant critique from the street) on the new Rock Creek restaurant in Friendship Heights.  I’ve been intrigued by their concept of low-fat, low-calorie cuisine where they use grapeseed and olive oil in place of butter and cream.  Check out the Best Bites Blog for reviews, and check back here for my […]
